The more I use the A2...the more I wish it had an optical trigger. Sometimes I want to trigger it from something other than a profoto trigger. Or if batteries die on location and there was no backup...I could at least fire it from a hotshoe flash in an emergency. A version update with an optical trigger built in would be great. Im amazed the A2 didn't have this. Especially at the price point... when it seems every light on the planet at least has an optical.
I would like to have an on camera flash and radio trigger where I can simply select the camera brand: Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic, Leica - and then the device works with the respective manufacturer.
Rollei does this with a clip-on flash. As I understand it, it's simply a matter of different PIN assignments. If they are all present, the software switches to the respective manufacturer.
